Superintendent’s Message

Welcome to Alta Public Schools, where we have more than 800 amazing students in both of our schools located in the SouthEast Los Angeles area. Academia Moderna Charter School serves over 500 students from TK to 5th grade and Prepa Tec Middle School serves over 300 students in grades 6th through 8th. 

As Alta Public Schools’s  Superintendent, I am proud to serve and support the emphasis on providing all students with the opportunity for an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary curriculum framework that builds conceptual understanding for real life events. Our students go on to be great leaders, inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective.

As an International Baccalaureate World Class continuum organization, our programs are inclusive of the Primary Years Program and Middle Years Program. All students are provided a world-class education through an inquiry and investigation school model that will prepare them to meet the challenges of a global 21st century. 

We are also excited to continue to  promote and collaborate with our strong parent, teachers, and staff partnerships as they are essential for student success.
