Alta Public Schools Title IX Statement
Each student and employee have a right to learn and work in an environment that is free from unlawful discrimination. No student or employee shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination on the basis of actual or perceived sex, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity or expression. Alta Public Schools affirms and is committed to providing an environment free from discrimination. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 protects individuals from discrimination (including sexual harassment and sexual violence) based on sex in any educational program or activity. Title IX also prohibits retaliation for asserting or otherwise participating in claims of sex discrimination. Furthermore, this law requires that no discrimination shall occur regarding admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, any program and activity on the basis of age, race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, citizenship, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, medical condition, religion, or marital status.
